This accredited course is an accredited program that provides students with advanced knowledge and skills in the assessment, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. The course combines theoretical learning with practical experience, covering advanced myofascial techniques, clinical assessment, corrective exercises, and patient management strategies. Students will gain hands-on experience in modern clinics under the supervision of experienced professionals. Emphasizing a holistic approach to health, the program also includes nutrition, lifestyle advice, and patient education. Graduates are prepared for various career opportunities in private practice, sports, healthcare facilities, wellness centers, and research or education, with the potential for future Medicare bulk billing services.
Under National recognition, this Advanced Diploma qualification will be recognised by other Australian RTOs.
Students are required to attend 14 hours of training and assessment per week and completed structured self-study of 6 hours per week except during clinic hours weeks.
In term 3, students will complete their 80 hours of myotherapy clinical hours. These clinic assessment hours ensure that students complete the minimum hours of work as detailed in the assessment requirements of the following unit:

The training and assessment schedule shows the weeks during which training is delivered and assessment conducted for each unit.

The accredited course requires that entry into 22656VIC Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy is open to individuals who can provide evidence they meet either of the following requirements:
Have successfully completed the Diploma of Remedial Massage (either HLT52015 or HLT52021)
OR
Hold the HLT50307 Diploma of Remedial Massage and have current membership at a practitioner-level (not affiliate membership) as a Remedial Massage Therapist with one of the following Australian professional associations:
• Association of Massage Therapists (AMT)
• Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA)
• Massage Association of Australia (MAA)
• Myotherapy Association of Australia (MA)
• Massage & Myotherapy Association (MMA)
• Australian Traditional-Medicine Society (ATMS).
AFWE has the following entry requirements:
All students must:
• be at least 18 years of age
• participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs.
Domestic students must:
• have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills as tested through a language, literacy and numeracy assessment. Students will need to achieve ACSF level 3 for reading, writing, numeracy and oral communication to enter the course.
International students must:
have an IELTS* score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
• educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; or
• successful completion of an English Placement Test.
*Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted. Students are required to provide their results so that it can be confirmed they are equivalent to IELTS 5.5.
Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge, and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning). The granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course.

All materials/equipment are supplied as per Training and Assessment Strategy.
No additional cost for material/equipment except for on campus printing.
In addition, all students who are undertaking the 22656VIC Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy must have the following resources while in class.
- A laptop or computer that is installed with Microsoft Office or similar.
- Use & wash your own towels for you practice.
Students obtaining a ‘competent’ result for all listed competencies will achieve a Qualification title.
Code achieving ‘not yet competent’ for any Unit of Competency will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units in which they have demonstrated competency.
