Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level are likely to provide leadership, guidance and support to others. They may also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of teams.

They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

The course contains 12 units including 5 core units and 7 elective units.

Delivery Mode

This program is delivered in the classroom and through structured self-study. Students will have use of college facilities including training rooms that are equipped with data projectors and screens: access to computers, printers, unlimited internet and library resources.

Course Duration

This qualification will be delivered over 52 weeks, including 40 weeks of training and assessment spread over 4 terms of 10 weeks each and 12 weeks of holidays.

*Students must satisfy a minimum of 20 hours of scheduled class time per week as part of your Student Visa requirements.

Entry Requirement

Australian Future Wellbeing Education has the following entry requirements:

All students must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have completed at least Year 12 or equivalent.
  • Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs.

Domestic students must: 

  • Have a valid visa to study or hold Australian citizenship, does not require a COE
  • have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills as tested through a language, literacy and numeracy assessment. Students will need to achieve at least ACSF level 3 for reading, writing, numeracy and oral communication to enter the course. Domestic students may not need to prove year 12  or any Tertiary study if achieve ACSF level 3 of LLN test.

A prospective student does not need to conduct LLN test with their application if one of the following applies:

  • Prospective student has completed at least 3years’ study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland within the last 5 calendar years.
  • Currently studying or has completeda Certificate III level or above in an Australian RTO or a higher education sector within the last 5 calendar years.
  • Has achieved general English Intermediate level with any registered Australian  education provider.

International students must:

  • Have an IELTS* score of 5.0(test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
    • Educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; or
    • Successfullyachieve CEFR B2 or above of an English Placement Test(Oxford or Cambridge)

*Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted. Students are required to provide their results so that it can be confirmed they are equivalent to IELTS 5.0.

A prospective student does not need to provide evidence of an English test score if one of the following applies:

  • Prospective student has completed at least 3years’ study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland within the last 5 calendar years
  • Currently studying or has completeda Certificate III level or above in an Australian RTO or a higher education sector within the last 5 calendar years.
  • Has achieve ELICOS Intermediate level with any registered Australian education provider

Please also note that if you are applying for more than one course with us, you will only need to complete the Placement test once. Students returning to studies at AFWE after a significant gap may be required to complete the  Placement test

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Learners may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge, and experience or credit transfer, which will reduce the course duration if granted to allow students to complete the course in a shorter timeframe.

 

Materials/equipment Required for the Course

The following facilities, equipment and resources will be used to deliver and assess this qualification:

  • Training rooms, including desks, chairs, whiteboard, and overhead projector.
  • Computers with Microsoft Office and access to the Internet.
  • Learning and assessment materials as outlined in this TAS.

In addition, all students who are undertaking this qualification must have the following resources while in class.

  • A laptop or computer that is installed with Microsoft Office or similar.
Course Completion

Students obtaining a ‘competent’ result for all listed competencies will achieve a Qualification title.

Code achieving ‘not yet competent’ for any Unit of Competency will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units in which they have demonstrated competency.
